COPPERPLATE is undoubtedly one of the most popular styles among all the scripts - very versatile and beautiful too. For students who have not tried the Copperplate style before (or are absolute beginners), you will find this the most beautiful and useful of all calligraphic styles.
This is a 5 weeks of 2-hour class (10 hours in total). This class is an in-depth study of the lowercase and uppercase alphabets (minuscules and majuscules) in the Copperplate script. You should have all of your Copperplate questions answered after this thorough study!
No prior calligraphy or lettering experience is necessary, just lots of patience and enthusiasm! This is a great class for complete beginners, but also for those who need some revision.

- An introduction to the materials, tools and how to set them up.
- How to load the nib with ink.
- Execution and ink flow problems.
- Writing posture and pen grip.
- Fundamental strokes of lowercase and uppercase letters (Minuscules and Majuscules) and thoroughly understanding the shapes of the letters.
- How to combine the letters to make words and sentences.
- How to turn the fundamentals into variations.
- Apart from pen and nib, assorted calligraphy tools will also be demonstrated throughout the class, you are welcomed to try them out according to the teacher's instruction.

- Spacing

- Numerals
- How to turn the fundamentals into variations.

- Participants must be aged 16 years or above.
- Workshop fees are strictly non-refundable.
